Not all masks are made equal. More than 6 months has passed since the pandemic started and it is far from over. When we started this project, there were a few key issues and challenges that we need to address:
The COVID-19 crisis is not going to be resolved anytime soon.
In the meantime, we need to continue to flatten the curve.
Masks will still be needed, especially so now since the Circuit Breaker is lifted and there is a lot more movement.
We need to ensure our local supply is adequate with minimum risk of disruption.
The general population must not compete with the frontline workers for masks.
The only way to address all those issues was to set up a production facility in Singapore. More than that, we wanted to set up a full clean-room facility to ensure the quality of the masks.
On 1 July 2020, with tremendous support from the community, that production facility started operations.
