THE BATTLE CONTINUES

Not all masks are made equal. More than 6 months has passed since the pandemic started and it is far from over. When we started this project, there were a few key issues and challenges that we need to address:

  • The COVID-19 crisis is not going to be resolved anytime soon.
  • In the meantime, we need to continue to flatten the curve.
  • Masks will still be needed, especially so now since the Circuit Breaker is lifted and there is a lot more movement.
  • We need to ensure our local supply is adequate with minimum risk of disruption.
  • The general population must not compete with the frontline workers for masks.

The only way to address all those issues was to set up a production facility in Singapore.  More than that, we wanted to set up a full clean-room facility to ensure the quality of the masks.

On 1 July 2020, with tremendous support from the community, that production facility started operations.
